Day 6: West Coast Trip: Lake Tekapo & Home to ChCh

Today we woke up to another beautiful day on Lake Tekapo. We wasted no time in packing our things and getting into the car. On the way out of town, we stopped at the Church of the Good Shepherd, an iconic symbol of Tekapo.  The church was built in 1935 to commemorate the pioneers who first settled in Mackenzie County. Many weddings are held annually at this church (when it is warmer) due to its stunning setting on the lake (as you can see)!

The view from our room onto the lake.

Outside the Church of the Good Shepherd.

This is my diet while I travel because it is cheap. I am grabbing a piece of bread with peanut butter and raspberry jam, spreading it with a coffee stirrer, while in the car. I think I have averaged over 50 PB&J sandwiches within the past month and a half.

On the way home to Christchurch, we stopped in a small town called Rakaia.

Is that a BAMA sweatshirt you have on? What a great trip. The GA mums are relieved to hear no Bungy jumping!
